Josh Ritters album The Beast In Its Tracks is largely inspired by his divorce, but its only a breakup record in part. Since then, Ritter found a new love and "Joy To You Baby" has him in a transcendent mood at the end of that emotional cycle, wishing happiness to the world as a whole and his old love in particular, but noting bittersweetly, If Id never have met you, you couldnt have gone.
