What is this and why do you need it?
Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 Carbon is the first ThinkPad Ultrabook and one of the slickest new laptops around. Measuring just 0.31" at the front and 0.71" at the rear, it is undeniably super-thin and weighs just under 3 lb. But it still manages to use Intel's 3rd gen "Ivy Bridge" Core i5 and Core i7 processors for great performance, combined with standard Solid State Drives and up to 8GB DDR3 RAM. Ports include USB 3.0, USB 2.0, and an SD card reader. Ethernet is not built-in, but Lenovo bundles a USB Ethernet adapter. A backlit keyboard is standard.

To get such a small chassis without compromising reliability or performance, Lenovo uses carbon fiber extensively through the machine to reduce weight without compromising reliability. Battery life is also impressive at over 8 hours of runtime and thanks to RapidCharge technology you can get another 5 hours of runtime with just 35 minutes of charging.
