Review: For me, each year brings a renewed promise that I will find a devotional guide that works for me and my schedule. I will say I have yet to find one that continues to work for me day after day. Maybe that's why I was excited about the opportunity to check out Mornings with Jesus, a daily devotional guide for 2012. This guide was written by women so surely they understand how crazy life is.
So far, so good. I know were only a few weeks into the year but so far I really like the design of this guide. Each day there is a verse, short devotional and a challenge. Each day is a page worth of reading or less. Anyone can do that, even if you have to lock yourself in the bathroom or read it while your child is brushing their teeth. Then you can take the rest of the day to meditate on the verse and "faith step" (challenge).
In this season of my life I'm not looking for something that has me reading 3 chapters from the Bible each day. Something short can speak to you just as much as that. The key is to be open to what God might be saying during the devotional reading or throughout the day.
The only thing I didn't like was that is was specifically written for 2012. If I want to pass it on to someone else when I'm done it could get confusing as to where you are. The days of the week are printed along with the day of the month. If you're looking to start the year off with daily time in Gods presence and your a busy women like so many are, this guide might be just what you need to get through the day.
