Baen Books has a number of its titles available for free. They call it surprisingly enough: the Baen Free Library.
Books can be downloaded in one of several formats. An explanation of why they do this, which books/authors, etc is here . A link to the list of books available is here . Books are always available, but the selection can change anytime. There are well over 100 books listed, so I'm not going to list them all here. They seem to cover the Scifi/Fantasy spectrum: space, vampires, different worlds, magic, dragons, robots, etc.

- David Weber
- Jerry Pournelle
- Larry Niven
- Gregory Benford
- Harry Turtledove
- Andre Norton
- Roberta Gellis
- ...and many more
I think this a great way to introduce people to an unfamiliar author - I know I will be exploring a number of authors new to me. I will also be buying more books from them as a way of supporting this library and encouraging more authors to participate.
