If you're a Verizon customer looking to upgrade your phone, or a customer of another carrier looking to switch over to Verizon, now is the time to buy a new smartphone. The HTC Thunderbolt is on sale right now from AmazonWireless for 1 cent. Yes, a phone that would normally cost you $699.99 without contract will cost you just one penny. For existing customers whose contract has yet to expire, the phone will cost you $119.99, which is still a great deal for a PCMag Editors' Choice smartphone.
At the time of review, PCMag's lead mobile analyst, Sascha Segan, said this is the fastest Internet phone ever. This was the first 4G LTE phone for Verizon's LTE network, which runs in about 40 metro areas and is constantly expanding. The phone also has a big, beautiful screen at 4.3 inches and 800x480.
The Thunderbolt has an 8G built-in memory, and runs on a 1GHz processor. It also has a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. When you buy the phone through Amazon Wireless you'll also get a $15 Amazon Digital Bonus which will get you on your way with all sorts of Kindle books, apps, and MP3s.
