Friendship Day may have been invented by a greeting card company as a way to sell more products, but it’s still a nice way to honor friends in your life. Joyce Hall, founder of Hallmark, promoted the first Friendship Day back in 1919. The holiday falls on the first Sunday in August, which means this year it’s celebrated August 7. Whether your friends live on the same street, or across the country take time to show them some love with a gift.
