Sony Ericsson Xperia Play 'PlayStation' Phone on Sale for 1 Penny
Filed under Android
For those game-hungry phone users out there looking to get your hands on the new "PlayStation phone," the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play Gaming Smartphone on Verizon, is on sale for new Verizon customers for only a penny. That's right, you can get the phone for 1 cent at AmazonWireless. The phone has a list price of $599.99, so you're saving quite a bit here. For customers who are already Verizon subscribers, you can get the phone for $49.99, which is still a pretty good deal.
PCMag reviewed the Xperia Play and gave it a 3.5 out of 5 rating. Mobile Analyst Sascha Segan really enjoyed the gamepad and said it's a "terrific way to play." It comes with the latest version of Android, Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It also has overall great specs with a Snapdragon II 1GHz CPU and Adreno 205 GPU. It has a 5MP camera with autofocus and LED flash on the back, and a VGA front-facing camera. It comes with an 8GB microSD card pre-installed.
Segan said the Xperia Play is the best gaming phone available in the U.S. right now. It's a bit thick and heavy, but that's what you get for having a dedicated gaming control pad on your phone.
