These are decent kits for a child around 4 or 5 and will last until they are 10 to 12 or even longer depending on how big they are and how much they are willing to put up with a extra small kit. Really an adult could play this with an full size throne added, but the sizes are just silly small.

You will want to replace the foot pedals if they get serious because they are just placeholders to get you going and the same goes for the cymbals. The drums are just as good as any full size cheapy, so get some good drum heads put on it after the first month when they originals are thoroughly dented and it will sound way better.
