These are cheap but useful if you just need to get louder and are NOT looking looking for $500 speaker sound for $100. Makes for a great party speaker if you don't mind mono or invest in two. DO NOT expect miracles, cheap powered speakers are just that cheap, and no you will not be able to turn it all the way up without consequences. These can be decent if you just need a mic amp for a garage band and don't play at 11. Of all my time working in a music shop I don't think there is one piece of musical gear more maligned through a lack of understanding of how they work and proper expectations per cost than powered speakers.
I'm glad I did not spend much time in "Pro Audio", drums aren't nearly as confusing for people.
