Maisto R/C Rock Crawler at Amazon
If you're not familiar with this product, it uses the same chassis and three-channel remote as Maisto's pickup-bodied rock crawler. It has a different body and an articulated rider figure that can be seated on the ATV or removed if you prefer. It also comes with a NiMH battery pack and charger that gives a very respectable run time. The pickup uses six AA batteries. The catch there is that if you like, you can keep a pile of rechargable AAs on hand and run the pickup almost indefinitely. That's Handy if you have one or two vehicles and you're trying to entertain a group of kids. With the ATV, once the battery is drained, it's down for the count until it charges. On the other hand, the ATV's rechargeable pack is a self-contained and elegant solution, and there is nothing else to buy.
Battery power aside, both units have three motors (one each for front and rear wheels, and one for steering), big, pliable knobby tires, and surprisingly articulate suspensions. They climb like goats...you can grab a couple of small throw pillows, toss them on the floor, and throw a blanket on top for a makeshift trail, and either unit will clamber right over. They're not very fast, so it's no problem running them indoors.
These, like other similar Maisto products, tend to go up and down in price, but this is about the lowest I've ever seen them. You won't find a Ready-to-Run R/C toy for less, particularly not one with so many features. They're substantially higher quality than the New Bright stuff you'll usually see in this price range.
