I bought one of these a year ago for the then-best price I had seen for this camera after waiting two years for it, $370 at Amazon , so this is an amazing price for it, 50% off its original retail. The big selling point of this camera is its 25mm-600mm equivalent (24x) Leica zoom lens that is f/2.8 at all focal lengths - that's no misprint, at full 24x zoom, you get a fast aperture of F/2.8 so this will take better low-light and fast action shots than most of the other megazooms on the market (at least thoseunder $700). It also has full articulating swing-out screen, an electronic viewfinder, full manual controls, you can shoot in RAW,and it takes common 52mm filters. It takesamazingly good 1080p video even in low light - I've got some great concert videos I've taken with it in dim clubs that sound great too with the external stereo microphone used with this camera and it might do a better job with video than most stand-alone HD camcorders.
Usually kits throw in a whole lot of useless and cheap crap for a whole lot more, but this one seems like it has a few reasonable items for no extra cost, including a Lexar 32gb Class 10 SDHC card, a bag, a small tripod, and an external flash that mounts on the camera's hotshoe.
DPReview.com, probably the best digital photography website on the internet, rated this an 80, getting it a Gold Award, their highest rating:
