Not sure how this rebate thing works but if it does go through that would be an awesome deal.
the Tamron 24-70 f2.8 VC is right up there with Canon and Nikon premium lens as far as IQ. It's also the only lens In its focal length class with VC.

You'll get a buncha stuff with this kit (some of which are useless for some of you professionals). one thing to really notice is the 50mm 1.8 canon lens. You'll get both lens for less than the price of the Tamron alone AR.
