Macy's is running a Friends & Family Sale that has a code for an additional 25 percent select merchandise. Unfortunately a lot of merchandise is excluded. However, there are still a lot of great products, already at good prices, and if you have time to hunt, you can find great deals by using the code.



But here is the deal, in order to test the code on specific products you have to go through the process of putting the products into the shopping basket, then applying the code as if you are checking out. If you do it one item at a time, you may run into the problem that I ran into when testing it. Once you enter the code, that's it. You cannot swap out items and try to enter it again or you will get a message that you can only enter a code once. It is some kind of snafu that I haven't figured a way around yet, other than by deleting cookies or swapping browsers.

I ended up switching browses and went through the process again, only this time I added in all of the merchandise that I was interested in and it deducted the additional 25 percent off the entire purchase, even on the merchandise that was already deeply discounted, plus gave me free shipping. Had I been ready to buy, it would have a very good savings.
