I am a certified elementary school teacher with a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I have taught in public school for nine years. I'm also a Mom with two adult daughters. I wrote this book because I want parents to know how vitally important and fundamental they are in their childs education. You are the keystone and a huge, determining factor in your childs success.
In this book, I detail how to best prepare your child for elementary school. This includes how to give your child the building blocks for a solid foundation for success in reading, math, writing, science, and social studies. I also discuss key social/emotional issues and other aspects of attending school.
I give you the inside scoop on when to contact your child's teacher or the school principal. What do you do if your child is being bullied? I also include chapters on helpful how-to's I've learned over the years for school and home (like how to get rid of lice and back-to-school shopping).
